Neighborhoods

Preserving the character, quality, and livability of Ward 5 communities.

Ward 5 is not just a district on a map -- it is a collection of neighborhoods, each with its own character, history, and set of concerns. Pat Roseland will make sure the council pays attention to the unique needs of each community within the ward.

Zoning and land use decisions have an outsized impact on neighborhood quality of life. Pat will fight to ensure that development respects existing neighborhoods, with proper buffers, appropriate density, and genuine input from affected residents.

Maintaining neighborhood infrastructure, enforcing property standards, and addressing nuisance issues are all part of protecting the investment residents have made in their homes and communities.

Priorities

  • 1Protect neighborhoods from incompatible development
  • 2Improve code enforcement responsiveness
  • 3Ensure resident input on zoning and land use changes
  • 4Maintain neighborhood streets, sidewalks, and lighting
  • 5Support neighborhood associations and community groups
